We organized four workshops for members of the community. The participants were mainly social group leaders of TOT (Training of Trainers) learning about productive use of renewable energy. They can mobilize and train their own groups about PURE (solar power to strengthen agricultural practices and improve livelihoods). We introduced them to the benefits of using renewable energy as to how solar energy can be used to increase agricultural productivity. Later we plan to give them comprehensive hands-on training in our demonstration center once it is well equipped. The workshop emphasized how the demonstration center will help prepare community groups leaders (TOT) with knowledge and skills for installation and maintenance of productive use of solar energy in agriculture irrigation, solar powered greenhouse heating, cooking food chain value and other uses of renewable energy. The group leaders continue forming clusters of five social groups. These groups implement these skills with farmers for better production of their crops and for community-based marketing. Our Training and Demonstration Center aims to provide farmers and stakeholders with hands-on training, technical assistance, and capacity-building programs on solar irrigation techniques, maintenance practices, and sustainable agriculture.
With these workshops, we raise awareness and recognition of the important roles of the youth in
advancing renewable energy renovations and sustainable development goals (SDG) at local, national and international levels. We mobilize and empower local communities to participate in the benefits from our project activities. Our projects are focused on empowering male and female youth and smallholder farmers.
Electrical Workshop
To raise awareness of environment conservation, we mobilized community members and our students to celebrate “The World Environment Day” June 5th, 2024. At the NGGG training center ground, local government representatives also participated. Our target is to plant 5000 trees.
Seedbed demonstration
The NGGG administrator attended the Global Grid Solar Forum at the Nairobi Kenyatta International Convention Centre in October. He learned the importance of mobilizing communities to plant trees in their own farms and how carbon credit can benefit local communities through the creation of green jobs.
We have done the necessary campaign in more than 40 Churches and local high schools to identify
students from poor backgrounds to join NGGG Training Center January 2025. With these workshops, we raise awareness and recognition of the important roles of the youth in advancing renewable energy renovations and sustainable development goals (SDG) at local, national and international levels. We mobilize and empower local communities to participate in the benefits from our project activities. Our projects are focused on empowering male and female youth and smallholder farmers.
