As an environmental organization focused on addressing climate change and local needs, we connect communities to renewal energy resources and empower vulnerable youth through environmental and technical education, job training and production.

The majority of Kenyan rural communities have no access to affordable grid electricity. Solar can offset this deficit as Kenya has a high potential for solar power generation with at least 8 hours of sunlight on most days. 

The rampant poverty in rural communities and high number of young adults dropping out of school with no skills brings hopelessness in reaching their full human potential. Training the young workforce, especially those from areas historically limited in access to resources, will give them skills for green jobs and ensure tomorrow's entrepreneurs. 

In addition, the high cost of energy across the country drives up food prices making even the basic necessities unaffordable to the majority of the population. 

Climate change is affecting every Kenyan in varied ways, including flooding, extended drought, and changes to agricultural production. By increasing access to renewable energy technologies we can help mitigate the affects of climate disruption as well as promote energy security. 

Having grown up in rural Karuri in the 1930's, Mary Nyambura Kahahu witnessed many changes in her life as Kenya became an independent nation. She noticed that modernization came with a cost, as it greatly increased wealth inequality.  As a farmer deeply in tune with the seasons, she was an early witness of climate change, as she noticed that changes in weather and climate happened over her lifetime. A strong and devoted woman, she was passionate about improving lives through education and established a volunteer youth program in 2014 where kids could learn about and assemble solar LED lights, the products of which benefitted the community. 

It is from this legacy that Njambi Kahahu continues her mother's work by starting Nature Go Green Go. Her biggest passion is in helping vulnerable youth gain skills and knowledge for today's world.
